Sewing Links Help Cancer Research

Hi Sewing Friends:

Can you believe that a sewing link can help cancer research?

I just added what is known as a lens on squidoo.com. Lens is another word for a website, I understand.

The big difference in a lens is that a portion of any proceeds from the sale of products on this sewing site is automatically donated to charity. I requested that the donation go to cancer research since both my husband and I are cancer survivors along with several of our close friends and family members. We also have lost many loved ones to this dreaded disease. Cancer has touched all our lives somehow.

Hopefully, this lens will become a great resource for sewing information and the donation will be significant. Check it out at:

Leave a comment or suggestion on how I can improve it to help serve your sewing needs. We are still in the process of building it, so your input is important. Please help.

I just celebrated my 70th birthday! Who would ever believe that 34 years ago, I had less than 10% chance to live to see my next birthday (cancer in the saliva gland) (That's why I have a paralyzed face.) And then, add to that a recurrence (lung cancer) when I was told that I had less than 2 years to live. That was 20 years ago!

God only knows why I am still here. But, I am grateful to have this time with my family and the opportunity to write about sewing to share my knowledge with you.

Let me know how I can help you.

To Your Sewing Success,
Marian

Sewing Courses from Sewing Success

Sewing Courses

Hi Sewing Friends:

Are sewing classes a waste of time and money for you? Do you have trouble getting anything out of a class? Do you find it difficult to keep up? Can you read and understand your notes the next day?

Do sewing pattern guidesheets fail to tell you what you need to know to complete your sewing project and not have it look "homemade"?

Try a different method to learn how to sew or improve your sewing skills. Check out step-by-step detailed sewing course ebooks that you can download and use at home whenever you want at your own pace.

If you have questions, your experienced professional sewing instructor is only an email away.

"Rebirth" Of Sewing

Sewing Courses

Hi Sewing Friends:

I'm seeing more about sewing every day. Sewing courses are attracting the younger crowd who want to express their individuality. Hooray! I couldn't be happier!

Sewing is "IN" and is a hot topic once again thanks to reality TV shows like Project Runway and do-it-yourself home dec shows.

Sewing Salons where you can go to learn to sew or "hang out" with other creative sewers are popping up all across the country. It's not just like Granma's sewing circle, but similar.

More new sewing magazines are coming out. Even the big national magazines and newspapers are covering the "rebirth" of the sewing craze. And sewing sites on the internet are growing in number and popularity every day.

If you are thinking about learning to sew or getting back into sewing to either sew your own clothes, recycle or revamp some of your old ones or if you are into home dec, you might consider taking a sewing course. There are a lot of creative fabric arts that might interest you, too. Check it out.

To begin, learn how to operate a sewing machine by going to a sewing machine dealer in your area. Once you have that mastered, try some basic sewing courses where you learn to sew simple projects.

The most convenient way to take a sewing course is to get a downloadable sewing course ebook.
You can work at your own pace whenever you want (even 2 AM) and you have a permanent copy of the detailed sewing instructions that you can use for many of your sewing projects or garments.

The best part is you don't have to travel anywhere and you don't have to take your own notes. You don't have to worry about missing a class. You don't have to wait for the class schedule to offer what you want. The sewing information is always available to you.

It's a great way to express your creativity. Your friends will think you are so talented and "cool" when you tell them, "I made it!"

Check out this site for some common sense sewing courses that include a new fitting method for skirts and pants and basic and couture sewing courses. Go to:
1st Step To Sewing Success

Here is another sewing blog (sister blog to this one) with tons of free sewing projects, sewing tips and techniques and adding more all the time:

Remember, you are the designer! You will learn a lot about sewing and have fun, too. Sewing is a very rewarding hobby and can be a money-making skill. Take a sewing course today!

It just makes sense!

Marian
