Dear Sewing Friends:
It is finally available! Check out:
"Sew A Tee Pee And Accessories For Your Tribe Of Kids "
Learn Basic Common Sense Sewing Techniques
"It Doesn't LOOK Homemade!" Sewing Techniques - Series I
Well, I certainly wasn’t planning for this to be my first “It Doesn’t Look Homemade” sewing technique publication, but I learned a long time ago that things happen for a reason. So, I don’t fight it anymore. I just go along with the flow and it usually works out OK. So, here goes! I hope you enjoy it.
You know it really doesn’t matter what your make, you can learn great sewing tips and techniques making fun projects for others, too.
I believe sewing for kids is the most fun. They don’t see or care if you make any mistakes. They enjoy the gift. Everyone has a kid somewhere to sew for, even if you don’t know them.
Why Tee Pees?
I started documenting some basic sewing techniques to put an e-book together for students and found the whole thing to be rather boring and not fun at all. So I thought, “How can I make this more interesting and fun to learn?”
I wanted to do something that has never been done before. I wanted something to stir up some creative juices and excitement. Then, I saw an ad for a tee pee, play mat and pillow that was really expensive. I knew that was it!
There are a lot of great basic sewing techniques here. Watch for them and start applying them to all of your sewing projects to increase your sewing success.
If you don’t have children to sew for, think about making a tee pee for a charity, hospital, your church, or a nursery school or for some needy child any time of the year.
Make some play mats (simple sandwich quilts) or no-sew play mats or pillows for kids and give them to charities, too. They always welcome them.
Make placemats for gifts for family and friends. Make some for yourself, too.
Use up all of your stash! Have a sewing party with some sewing friends.
You can do it! (Phil: 4-13)
What joy it will bring to the kids and to you! Besides, you’ll learn a lot in the process!
Have fun!
It just makes sense!
To Your Sewing Success,
Marian
